Delivery of your newspaper subscriptions is generally one of three ways.
Weekly news magazines and newspapers such as The Guardian Weekly send your copies to you through the post. In the UK this tends to be by Royal Mail first class delivery so you should get the title the day after it is printed and mailed. Publishers are aware of the time-sensitive nature of their publications so overseas subscribers have their copies sent by airmail, expedited post or using local hand delivery services.
Because of the time-sensitive nature of daily newspapers, most use vouchers that you can redeem at a newsagent. You will receive booklets of personalised, pre-paid vouchers that are sent to you in advance, in regular batches. These subscription vouchers can be used at any participating newsagent, wherever you happen to be. That means you can use your local newsagent (and even arrange delivery from them if they offer this) for your regular copies, and if you?re away from home you would still be able to pick up your newspaper at a participating newsagent or supermarket.
Certain titles use hand delivery companies to get your daily paper to your doorstep (or office) each morning. This means you get the day?s paper in a timely fashion, but don?t need to collect it yourself for the newsagent. Some newspapers have hand delivery areas and others will deliver to you wherever you are, but that will be spelled out in the offer text for the relevant pages.
